It seems that Bush’s resolve not only applies to policy but also to politicking.
This week Bush was out stumping for Republicans in Congress and is sticking to the playbook from the last two elections – national security, with a bit of tax cut talk.
I’m guessing that he hasn’t read the most recent NIE in which the 16 US intelligence agencies all agree that the war in Iraq has made the United States less safe.
Of course, he could just be hoping that if he says something enough times people will believe it regardless of it’s veracity like was done in ’04 regarding Iraq and it’s ties to Al Qaeda.
It could pay off for him, but it could also backfire horribly.
